Reefside is a new single-level retail and lifestyle centre in Sibaya, branded 'The Home of Coastal Living', opening on 1 October 2026 along the M4 between Umhlanga and Umdloti. Its own site lists more than 30 confirmed tenants led by Weylandts, Clicks, Nando's, Ocean Basket and Vovo Telo.
Reefside is the second retail centre for the Sibaya precinct and the one locals had been hearing about without a name. Its own site went up in June 2026 and says plainly: opening 1 October 2026, along the M4, single level, over 30 tenants confirmed. Devmco’s news page had called it “the highly anticipated new retail centre, under construction along the M4” since earlier in the year. This page tracks it from here.
What it is
Reefside describes itself as “a lifestyle destination where community and inspired design come together”, built around “home design, restaurants, lifestyle and leisure”. That positioning is different from Marine Walk, which does the everyday shop (Spar, Woolworths, Dis-Chem). Reefside is pitched at the slower visit: furniture and fabric showrooms, a sit-down lunch, a haircut, a boxing class.
The format is a single-level open centre with mall-level parking, a dedicated outdoor children’s play area, live music and rotating pop-up markets, per the centre’s site. Published hours are 08:00 to 18:00 seven days a week.
Who is opening there
The tenant list on reefside.co.za as of September 2026:

- Family and gifts: BubbaDue (baby boutique), Pomegranate (florist), a Kids Club
Individual venue pages will be added to Eat and drink once the restaurants are trading.
What is not yet public
No square-metre size, no developer statement, no architect, no exact address. The Sibaya Coastal City map lists Reefside as “Launching October” but links nowhere yet. The site names no leasing agent. When the centre opens, the status page will carry the first-week reality: parking, traffic on the M4 and M27 interchange works, and which tenants actually opened on day one.
What it means for Umdloti
Two things. A second sit-down dining cluster ten minutes from the village, which changes the Sunday-lunch map. And more traffic on the M4 at the Sibaya turn-offs, at the same time as the M27 interchange upgrade is still under construction. The wider precinct brand has also shifted. Devmco now markets the whole thing as Sibaya Coastal City, with a map that lists Reefside, a Porsche centre, HQ Sibaya, hotels and a medical facility as “Coming Soon”, and a “Serenity” phase at Salta as underway for 2026. - Devmco describes it as under construction along the M4 in the Sibaya precinct. The precise site and its distance from Marine Walk and Umdloti village are not yet published; this page will carry them once a street address or map pin appears.
- Is Reefside the same as Marine Walk?
- No. Marine Walk is the existing centre at Salta Sibaya that opened in September 2022 with Spar, Woolworths and Dis-Chem. Reefside is a second, separate centre positioned around home design, restaurants and wellness.
