Umdloti Community Space, Umdloti Beach

The Umdloti Community Space is one of the newest places in the village to eat and work. Upstairs from Victory Surf Shop, it sells coffee, snacks and smoothies, with an ocean-view coworking area. Deon Bosman, known locally for Bossie’s Beach Report, founded it, and it opened with an invite-only soft launch in late July 2026, as the North Coast Courier reported at the time.

Think of it as part cafe, part remote-work space, sold on the sea view and the surf culture more than on office desks. Bosman put the split this way: “the surf shop downstairs is about business, but upstairs is about community.” You can buy coffee, snacks and smoothies, or bring your own food while you use the workspace, according to the same coverage.

Most places to eat in Umdloti are straightforward cafes or restaurants, so a workspace upstairs is unusual here. It sits right in the village’s surf and beach hub, close to Umdloti Beach and other beachfront cafes like FOAM. For more on the surf scene, see Umdloti surf.

Hours and prices are hard to find so far, and it isn’t clear whether the coworking side charges a day pass or fee on top of what you buy. The North Coast Courier article is the only independent coverage yet, so ask when you arrive if you plan to settle in and work.
