Solara, a residential component of the Salta Sibaya development in the Sibaya Precinct’s Node 6, launched on 21 June 2025. Salta Sibaya as a whole is valued at roughly R2.5 billion and also includes Capri Village, an over-50s lifestyle estate, sitting alongside Marine Walk Shopping Centre, which anchors the retail side of the same node.
This is one of a steady run of named launches across the Sibaya Precinct since Devmco Group took over as master developer from Tongaat Hulett in November 2024. Other launches include Oasis Sibaya (July 2024) and HQ Sibaya (November 2025). Each launch adds to a residential and commercial base that increasingly links Umdloti to Umhlanga along the coastal strip.
For Umdloti readers, Solara and the wider Salta Sibaya node matter mainly for the new neighbours, the extra shops at Marine Walk, and more traffic on the M27/M4 into the village. That corridor is one of several reasons this stretch of road has seen recurring works and closures through 2025 and 2026. See /status for current road conditions.
